Catherine Bastedo uses archetypes, myth and nature toems to help people reduce stress, release and transmute old patterns, restore balance on the physical, mental, and emotional levels and develop new ways of looking at life and the patterns in their lives.  Her clients appreciate the wisdom, experience and love of nature she brings to her work.

She lives with her family in Gatineau, Québec and as much of the summer as possible in Muskoka, Ontario in her century old family cottage.

Bird Vibe is a meditation deck for spiritual insight through birds — 54 beautiful cards by Catherine Bastedo.

This deck is based on 50 birds that may be seen in various parts of North America, grouped by eight chakras according to the bird’s colour, habitat or other characteristics.

Each card shows a different bird through paintings by Ottawa nature painter, Heather Bale. This deck gives users insight into current life situations, and helps them to connect with Nature, and the Universal Life Energy around them and within them.

Clients have found the cards give them powerful revelations through the messages, the paintings, and the connections to their chakras. Learn more HERE.

CHAKRA BASICS COURSE – Wise Woman University

An understanding of your chakras is essential background for many forms of energy work, from Reiki to crystals to Holographic energy healing. This class will help you learn the basics about chakras, these important centres of energy, and reach a better understanding of their mental, physical and emotional health.

This class teaches the location of seven major chakras and their attributes, as well as the state of health of one’s own chakras and how they affect emotional and physical health. Students learn how to sense their chakras, connect with them and clear them, through quick exercises and assignments.

The lessons are presented with visual aids to emphasize the symbolism of the chakras, and help you remember. Upon completion of the Chakra Basics course, the participant will be able to:

  • Describe what a chakra is
  • Identify the 7 major chakras
  • Name the attributes of each chakra
  • Assess the health of their own chakras
  • Use practices to clear and align their chakras

Learn more HERE.

This upcoming WWU class will help people to really see and understand their environment, to connect with their own sacred spaces to reach harmony with their surroundings and within themselves.

Small group retreats held in beautiful Muskoka, Ontario, on an island, in a century-old family cottage. The intentions of the June retreats are to give people a chance to reconnect with nature and in so doing:

  • Revitalize the body
  • Clear the mind
  • Celebrate the spirit

Through meditating and practicing energy work, participation in sacred circles, sunrise ceremonies, hikes and swims, participants rediscover the awe of Nature and the harmony and balance it brings, focus on the interconnectedness of all life, and practice heart-centred living.

The intentions of the September retreat are to give people an opportunity to prepare themselves for the fall/winter season, to help them ensure vigour, balance and new ways of seeing things by:

  • Grounding through nature
  • Connecting with the ancient wisdom of plants, animals, crystals and minerals
  • Meditating and practicing energy work to seek inner guidance
  • Relaxing, canoeing, hiking, and having fun with like-minded people!

A joint program with Julie Desmarais & Associates, the RMTP includes 8 hours of in-class instruction in small groups, and three half-day workshops: Nature Teachings and Totems, Teaching Reiki with Wisdom, and Practical Lessons for Starting a Reiki Practice/Business.

In addition to the workshops, a minimum of 5 one-hour individual sessions are held, to provide support to the student and review cases.  Each student completes 55 Reiki cases of different types during their training period.

Individual sessions in person with Catherine Bastedo – mainly in Ottawa, Ontario – and by phone, facilitate healing on all levels. They help align a person’s chakras, provide a sense of calm, and a way to see things in new ways.

Clients report that sessions help in improving sleep patterns, reducing stress, improving self-confidence and opening the heart to self-love and love of others.
