Jon Lipton is a Principal at Castle Rock Agency, Inc., which is a licensed Property & Casualty Insurance Agency, located in the heart of New York City. Castle Rock Agency Inc. is licensed in NY, NJ, PA, CT, MA, OH, FL & CA. Lipton has been underwriting and selling property and casualty insurance for over 14 years. His previous employment includes working on Wall Street as Foreign Exchange Dealer for one of the largest International French Banks. Jon's previous position held was as President of ARM Of NY, Inc., a midsized property & casualty insurance agency, located in the Wall Street area of NYC.

Jon's current responsibilities at Castle Rock Agency is acting as a Risk Manager, Commercial Underwriter and Broker for Small to Large lines. He designs, negotiates and implements insurance and risk management programs for small to medium sized accounts. Jon has assisted in the development of current and prospective Safety/Loss Prevention Programs. He is also involved in the review and analysis of contracts, leases and agreements for compliance and acceptability of insurance provisions. Jon maintains relations with insurance company marketing representatives and underwriters Supervision, evaluation & development of the Marketing, Advertising & Website. Lastly, he has set up and created agency intranet site and a work flow program

Lipton has written a number of insurance journal articles and books. He is the author of Church Insurance, Religious Organization, Pastoral Liability and Institutional Insurance, General Contractors Liability Insurance, Additional Insured’s, Certificates of Insurance, the Misnomer.  Jon attended Hofstra University (B.S. in Banking & Finance), and is a licensed Property and casualty insurance broker.

For Raritan Bay Medical Center, Jon holds a board seat on the Risk Management, Insurance & Compliance Committee of Locations in Perth Amboy and Old Bridge, NJ. For (500+ bed hospital), Marlboro CARES, Jon is Chairman of the Board of – non profit 501©3 educational foundation, and with the Starlight Foundation, Lipton is a Member of Fund Raising Committee.  Jon also coaches travel Soccer U9 boys club in Marlboro, NJ.

More about Brett Lipton
Brett Lipton's is the CEO/CIO of Castle Rock Insurance Agency Headquartered in New York City's Union Square. In addition to heading the technical team at Castle Rock, he also serves as the personal lines and small commercial lines underwriting department head.

His career in the insurance industry began in 1998 as the Principal of ARM of NY. After 8 years as the head of the personal lines department, he felt ARM was becoming too corporate and left ARM. With the help of Jon Lipton, he started Castle Rock Agency. 

Castle Rock was started because...prior to being an insurance agent, Brett resided in Los Angeles California where, while serving as an administrator at the Motion Picture & Television Hospital, MPTF, he concurrently produced an "Off Broadway" Theater run for 2 years.  These two positions allowed him to use the math,  business & creative training he received at Alfred University.

As a personal lines underwriter he handles accounts typically comprised of Auto, Home & Umbrella coverages. As a commercial lines underwriter he focuses on Restaurants, Nightclubs, Contractors and Professional Liability including Technology E & O, Media Liability, Construction Management and Real Estate E & O.

Brett is also involved with the international division of Castle Rock, Castle Rock Global Corp. He has most recently been involved in the working on the following international risk lines: Placing coverage for a team of 30 en route to Haiti to perform water purification, and ice production; insuring the construction & operation of a $120M, 30 acre solar farm in Bulgaria; Preparing insurance coverages for the construction of a $70B city in China.

Brett Lipton brings to Castle Rock a passion for explaining the nuances of insurance coverages to his clients. All too often people buy cheap coverage that contains exclusions germane to the operations of their business. Exclusions that, in many events, will not cover a business for the very specific nature of what they do. In many cases, claims of this nature can often bankrupt an organization.

With over twenty years in the business, Summer Whitford has extensive experience as a chef/pastry chef, caterer, writer of books, articles, and newsletters.  She was the Senior Writer, Editor, and Content Specialist for World Class Cuisine, a food, wine, culture, and travel series which aired on the Discovery Channel and was syndicated in 74 countries.  In addition, she was the Kitchen Manager and Content Specialist for The Low Cholesterol Gourmet also on Discovery Channel, and has developed curricula on international cuisine for colleges, recreation departments, and private clients.
