By Sharon Riegie Maynard, Host of Weaving the World and Stimulating Seattle
Weaving The World shares inspiring voices of those creating a new culture for our world, a culture that values all life.

Stimulating Seattle highlights businesses, events and individuals that make Seattle a great place to live and fun area to visit!

Valerie Hudson is co-author of the recent controversial book, Bare Branches: The Security Implications of Asia’s Surplus Male Population, which argues that historically, high male-to-female ratios have often triggered domestic and international violence.

Their next question is violence against women a better predictor for degree of national security than other factors led them to a seven year research project.

Hudson and her co-author Andrea den Boer after examining 300 variables in 175 countries say, “yes.”

Women are the heart of a group society’s health and the barometer for a world free from violence.
