As the excitement of SXSW grows…as do our radio/podcast
submissions! This week we’re proud to
share with you a handful of artists that we’ll be either shooting HD Video of,
recording audio, interviewing, writing about during/after SXSW, or are just
plain enamored with! Also, check out a
variety of submissions from around the world (Sweden, UK, Brazil, Canada &
the US)!
If you're on Twitter, you probably are already hip to the
use of hash tags (#) to identify topics and trends ... and you probably see the
same ones every Monday, "#MusicMonday", "#musicmonday"
and "#MM". These hash tags facilitate worldwide
recommendations/promos/plugs/playlists/reviews/concerts/gear and MUCH more
throughout Twitter, and now the entire web!
Here at WomensRadio, we use these networks to give an added boost to the
world's finest Independent Female (and Male) Musicians submitting to our
studios. Here are a couple of submissions we picked up early Monday
morning:

Week In Review: We’ve
been SUPER busy making plans for SXSW 2010 in Austin this March, but still found
time to share with you a very special interview with Jack Cooper (Cooper Studios/Pump
Records) and an album review of The Veil of Life by Geela. Next week we plan on bringing you our
pre-SXSW podcast + our 2nd *major* playlist update of 2010…stay
tuned!
We’d
like to wish very happy birthdays to the late, great, GRAMMY Award winning South
African singer and civil rights activist, Mama Afrika (Miriam Makeba) (March 4th
1932 – November 10th 2008), and American singer/songwriter/producer Teena Marie (born Mary Christine Brokert on March 5th 1956) aka Lady
Tee (Lady T).
Also,
check out one of our *favorite* new videos – “The Wolf” by Phildel (yes, she
directed it too!):
