When listening to Christmas albums, I’ve found that in most cases, they are either hit or miss. Danan Healy’s self-released Christmas album, Christmas Time Rocks is definitely a HIT, with very cool holiday-flavored (non-edible) packaging, complete with the classic wood grain panneling as well as the option to fill out the "To:" and "From:" fields on the included Gift Tag!

Imagine if Jamaica experienced snowfall during the holidays… The warming roots reggae and ska rhythms presented in the opening notes of “Christmas Time Rocks” seamlessly blend with Danan’s strong and nurturing vocal expertise, appealing to an expansive audience through this heart-felt combination of comedy, talent and novelty. Danan’s original songwriting and down-to-earth approach kindly reminds us that this time of year is for having snowball fights and “acting like infants,” as opposed to the act of idolizing material objects like the iPhone or a new GPS device.

Another Christmas Time Rocks original worth checking out is “The One,” which tells the story of Christmas in a fresh and palatable manner. The warming sounds of rhodes keyboards take us back to sounds like that of the Beatles or John Frusciante of Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Danan’s stylistic approach to incorporating a chorus without words, lead the arrangement to a “more-than-impressive” stature on this 2008 release!

Throughout the eleven songs on Christmas Time Rocks, we've re-discovered some of our favorite holiday anthems, while learning to sing a couple of new ones too!  Impress your friends & family this year, just as we have been by the hand picked and neatly wrapped "holiday-scented" sounds of Danan Healy's Christmas Time Rocks!
