Living with Chronic Pain. Dr. B talks to Penney Cowan, Founder and CEO of the American Pain Chronic Association about helping people live their lives fuller in spite of their pain. Ms. Cowan discusses the fact that she has been dealing with pain for more than 30 years, hence her desire to start the APCA so that her experience could provide people with the tools they need, in addition to what their health care provider offers, so that people with pain could improve their skills in the self-management of their chronic pain.

David G. Borenstein, MD
Clinical Professor of Medicine, The George Washington University Medical Center Partner, Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates, the largest rheumatology practice based in Maryland and Washington, DC.
Dr. Borenstein joined the rheumatology faculty at The George Washington University Medical Center in 1978 and rose to the rank of Professor of Medicine and Neurological Surgery and was the Director of The Spine Center for 6 years. Dr. Borenstein is the author or co-author of more than 100 journal articles and books including Heal Your Back (2011) and Back in Control (2003); and three medical textbooks. Dr. Borenstein is listed in the Best Doctors in America, Who’s Who in America, and named a “top doctor” by Washingtonian Magazine. He was formally the President of the American College of Rheumatology.
